QbCheck ADHD-Like Symptom Profiles

Attention, Focus & Concentration

Difficulties with attention, focus, or activity levels can present differently across childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. For individuals aged 6 to 65, this may include distractibility, restlessness, impulsivity, or difficulties regulating energy levels.

This screening uses QbCheck, a computer-based assessment that provides objective, standardised data on attention, activity levels, and impulsivity. By measuring performance and movement directly, QbCheck can help identify patterns that may not be evident through observation alone, supporting clearer understanding and next steps where appropriate.

What this screening looks at

This screening explores areas such as:

  • Attention and concentration
  • Activity levels and restlessness
  • Impulsivity
  • Executive functioning (such as planning, organisation, and self-control)

It can be helpful where concerns have been raised at home, in school, or by the individual themselves, and where clearer understanding would support next steps.

How the screening works

Attention and focus screening uses a combination of:

  • Standardised questionnaires
  • Observational information
  • Objective assessment tools commonly used in ADHD-related screening

One of the tools used is QbCheck, a computer-based assessment that provides objective data on attention, activity levels, and impulsivity. This information is considered alongside other evidence to help build a fuller picture.

How this screening can be used

Information from this screening may be used as evidence to support identified needs, for example:

  • Supporting conversations with schools or educational settings
  • Providing evidence of support needs in the workplace
  • Informing requests for additional support or adjustments
  • Contributing to discussions with other professionals
Helping guide decisions about next steps or further assessment
  • Evidence for 'Right to Choose' referrals

While this screening is not a diagnosis, it can provide clear, structured evidence to help explain a child or young person’s needs.

What you will receive

Following screening, families or individuals may receive:

  • A clear written 2-3 page report
  • A Mental Health and Wellbeing Profile™ at no additional cost
  • Easy-to-understand explanations of findings
  • Identification of both strengths and areas of difficulty
  • Practical recommendations and suggested next steps
